DATA STORAGE, RECOVERY AND PRESERVATION IN LIBRARIES AND INFORMATION CENTERS
Abstract
The field of data storage, recovery, and preservation has become increasingly crucial in the digital age. This paper addresses the pivotal aspects of storing, recovering, and preserving data, emphasizing the evolving technologies. The challenges and innovations in data storage solutions, ranging from cloud-based architectures to distributed systems, are explored. The abstract also delves into the intricacies of data recovery strategies, including robust backup systems and comprehensive disaster recovery plans. Preservation considerations take center stage, examining sustainable archival methods to combat data degradation. This abstract underscore the interdisciplinary nature of the field, spanning computer science, information technology, archival sciences and library and information science. It highlights the imperative role of these processes in ensuring the accessibility, integrity, and enduring value of digital assets.
