It is against this backdrop that this study is an attempt to examine the place of religion in providing the way forward in the area of prison decongestion as well as promoting prisoners reform and rehabilitation.  A descriptive survey design approach was adopted for the study.  In the final analysis, the paper made some findings and draws conclusions with some recommendations.
