THE ROLE OF INFORMATION MANAGERS IN PROMOTING THE ATTAINMENT OF SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT GOALS IN NIGERIA
Abstract
This paper focuses on what information managers need to do in using information literacy as one of the tools for achieving a sustainable development. It started by a general appraisal of what the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) entail, and how it is relevant to the Nigerian society, particularly in their area of information needs. It also discusses information literacy and its basic components, and what an information manager is and their expected roles in the contemporary society. The paper highlights what information managers are expected to do to achieve the SDG’s using information literacy as a potent tool.
