OUTSOURCING LIBRARY SERVICES FOR EFFECTIVE LIBRARY MANAGEMENT

Abstract


The recent financial downturn has provided impetus to libraries to adopt new low cost models of service delivery. Outsourcing has played vital role in these new lower-cost models of service delivery. The paper lists reasons for outsourcing library services, criteria for selecting an outsourcing vendor, outsource-able library services. It also outlines the advantages and disadvantages of outsourcing.
