STRATEGIES FOR IMPROVING STUDENTS’ ENROLMENT IN RELIGIOUS STUDIES IN ABIA STATE COLLEGE OF EDUCATION, AROCHUKWU (ASCETA)

Abstract


This paper investigated the strategies for improving students’ enrolment in Abia State College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu.To achieve this objective, three research questions were formulated.This was followed by the construction of  a questionnaire that reflect the three research questions formulated. The questionnaire was validated and its reliability was found to be 0.71.The study was conducted in Abia State College of Education (Technical) Arochukwu. The study used survey research design. The population of the study consisted of 22 lecturers from Abia State College of Education(Technical) Arochukwu.There no was sample and sampling technique as the population was manageable.The data collected from the questionnaire was analyzed using mean and standard deviation.The finding of the study revealed among others that the use of social media,radio programmes,television programmes,magazines and morning devourtion platform can help to increase students’ enrloments in religious studies. Based on these findings, the paper recommends the following among others that the management of Abia State College of Education should employ these findings as means of increasing students enrolment in the College.
